ABOUT THE ARTIST

Allison Chase was born in a small town in Kansas.

She grew up drawing and painting, and also developed a passion for theater and film. At the University of Kansas, she chose to pursue a theater major, and realized that a makeup career could combine her passions for visual and performance arts. She has been refining her craft since that first class at age 19, and is largely self-taught.

Her projects range from:

  • Special Effects and Prothetics

  • Body and face painting

  • Airbrush

  • Avant Garde

  • Beauty and makeovers

  • Runway

  • Bridal.

Allison spent a year teaching in South Korea. After that, she moved to Kansas City and worked at the Edge of Hell haunted house doing special effects. She has since collaborated with many talented photographers, models, hairstylists and designers.

Her work was seen at Kansas City Fashion Week, fashion shows and various film projects.

In August 2013 she won a special effects makeup contest hosted by Kansas City's Crypticon.

She has furthered her education in the makeup arts by taking courses from Dick Smith's Advanced Professional Makeup Course, and the Stan Winston School of Character Arts.

Allison recently finished up a year in Sydney Australia after a year in Wellington, New Zealand, where she continued to be involved in her craft and improve her skills.

Allison currently resides in Orlando, Florida.

Allison has had her work featured on several blogs and websites:
